ויאמר אלהים יקוו המים מתחת השמים אל מקום אחד ותראה היבשה ויהי כן׃ Then God ( Elohiym ) said , "Let the waters (mayim) below the heavens (shamayim) be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear." And it was so . ~ Genesis 1:9 ESV The time now the beginning of Creation Day 3 . With the waters ( mayim ) of His heavenly expanse above ( shamayim ) complete, God now focuses His full attention on a small rocky planet with a center radius of 3,959 miles and an orbiting distance of approximately 93 million miles (150 million k m ) from a yellow-dwarf star located along an outside spiral arm of the Milky Way Galaxy . With meticulous precision and care , God fashions His chosen future home for man kind into a perfect sphere that will : • rotate once on its axis every 24-hours , defining day and night ; • orbit the sun once every 365.25 days , defining a year ; • have a rotation al axis tilted at 23.5 degree along its path around the sun for the sole purpose of dispersing the sun's seasonal energy evenly and consistently in all hemispheres throughout the year ; • be the right size with enough gravity to hang on to its future atmosphere, but not so large to hold on to too much atmosphere and consequently too much heat ; • ha ve a strong, stable magnetic field, which will shield its surface and atmosphere from deadly cosmic rays , solar winds and solar flares ; • have all of the necessary chemical ingredients ( mayim ) needed for life to both survive and thrive.
