Creation Day 3: God creates the Earth using His Special Mayim

Unlike the oceanic crust that's composed mostly of younger basalt rock s formed deep with in the earth's mantle, today's continents can have igneous and metamorphic rocks dat ing back 4 billion years. Sedimentary rocks (such as limestone, sandstone and shale) are much younger than igneous and metamorphic rocks because God didn't create the flowing water s needed for sediment weathering and erosion until later in Day 3. While the buoyant ( the ab ility to float) continental crust is much older in age , the denser oceanic crust is continuously being created at mid-oceanic ridges at an average rate of 2 - 4 centimeters per year. This not only explains why the youngest rock s on Earth are under the oceans (see the picture and chart above), it explains how we have arrive d at our present map with continents and oceans perfectly positioned in the correct location for the arrival of God's ultimate creation at the end of Day 6.
