Why God created plants before animals. The Bible records that God created the first plant life on Earth at the end of Creation Day 3 and the first animals at the beginning of Day 5. Let's see if you can figure out why God created plants before animals by answering three thought provoking questions. • Did you know that water comprises 80 to 90% of the p lant's total weight ? • God created the roots of plants to act as both sponges and anchors with unique ability to absorb the needed nutrients and water from the soil that supports them. • God also created roots with the amazing ability to grow away from dry sites toward wetter patches in the soil - a phenomenon scientists called hydrotropism . • Plants don’t require soil to produce food. They can be grown hydroponically using only sunlight and by immersing their roots in water enriched with the minerals needed by the plant.
