Creation Day 3: God creates the "chemical" breath of life

God's step-by-step 'timed process ' in creating plants on Earth What needs to be answered is - how can scientists accurately measure the age of a rock? Age is not a physical property. It is conceptual. Age is the concept of the amount of time an object has existed. It is the present time minus the time at which the object came into existence. One cannot measure the “amount of age” contained in something – as if age were a substance that accumulates over time. Instead, it would be far more accurate to say that scientists attempt to estimate the age of something.

• How are all of the visible rock layers in the picture alike? • How are the rock layers different? • As you descend down from rock layer A to rock layer D , do you think the age of rocks will become older or younger? • Which rock layer do you believe is the youngest? Which is the oldest? What makes you so confident in your answer? In the Grand Canyon, the layers of rocks you see are nearly horizontal. Most sediment that makes up these rocks (sandstone and limestone) were either laid down horizontally in bodies of water like the oceans, or on land along the margins of streams and rivers. Each time a new layer of sediment is deposited it is laid down horizontally on top of an older layer of rock . Carefully examine the different lettered rock layers in picture above.
