The Story behind Satan's Mantra of Doubt Satan had to find an effective means of channeling his mantra of doubt throughout all humanity. You may have heard this story before.

In 1831, a young, unpaid English naturalist named Charles Darwin began his voyage around the world aboard the HMS Beagle. During the course of his five year journey, Darwin surveyed the coast of South America and stopped in such places as Australia and, most famously, the Galapagos Islands. It was here, while observing the unique wildlife found only on these remote islands located 620 miles west of the South American continent that Charles Darwin developed the basic outline of his groundbreaking theory of evolution through natural selection. This evolution, Darwin wrote, is due to the fact that an individual animal is marked by subtle differences that distinguish it from its parents. Darwin called these differences “variations.” Variations are random; some of them convey distinct advantages – superior camouflage, unique adaptations, or greater speed.
