Creation Day 3: God creates the "chemical" breath of life

God's step-by-step 'timed process' in creating plants on Earth.

S cientists at the Swedish Museum of Natural History have recently discovered what they believe to be the world's oldest plant fossils uniquely well-preserved in sedimentary rocks at Chitrakoot in central India. The presumed red algae specimens were found embedded in 1.6 billion year old fossil ized mats of cyanobacteria, called stromatolites . With the help of synchrotron-based X-ray tomographic microscopy, the scientists were able to look inside the individual fossilized strands of red algae at what appears to be chloroplasts, the organelles within plant cells where photosynthesis takes place. Even with this new discovery of what is believed to be the first photosynthetic plant life on earth, the scientific mystery still remains -

what major event caused atmospheric oxygen levels to rise high enough to enable future animal life to both survive and thrive on planet Earth?
