Creation Day 4 God reveals His "heavenly clocks" in the night and day sky

"Do you not fear me?" declares the Lord. "Do you not tremble before me? I placed the sand as the boundary for the sea, a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass; though the waves toss, they cannot prevail; though they roar, they cannot pass over it." ~ Jeremiah 5:22 ESV God synchronized the moon's gravity to balance Earth's tides Tides are vital to life on Earth. Tides cleanse the ocean’s shorelines, and help keep the ocean currents circulating, preventing the ocean from stagnating. The tides help remove pollutants and circulate nutrients ocean plants and animals need to survive. Floating plants and animals ride the tidal currents between the breeding areas and deeper waters. They benefit man by scouring out shipping channels and diluting sewage discharges. Ships navigate the waters during high tide in some areas or risk running aground. In some places, people exploit the enormous energy of the tides to generate electricity. The Vital Importance of Tides

When Galileo Galilei first attempted to explain tides in 1595, he unfortunately left the moon out of this theory and focused solely that tides were the result of E arth's orbit of the sun. It wasn't until 1687 that Sir Isaac Newton first introduced the moon as the main factor that caused E arth's tides. Newton explained that ocean tides result from the gravitational attraction between the E arth, moon and sun. The moon, according to Newton, influence d tides the most . Newton compared t he moon's gravitational attraction to a giant magnet bulging the ocean's surface on the side of the Earth facing the moon.

Newton also explain ed why one location will experience 2 high tides per day. One high tide is due to the gravitation attraction of the moon. The opposite high tide is caused by the Earth’s rotation al spin or “centrifugal force . ” This spinning force causes the oceans to bulge on the opposite side of the E arth facing the moon producing a second high tide.
