Creation Day 4: God reveals His "heavenly clocks" in the night and day sky
G od loves diversity. The Designer of our universe wanted to create a perfect home for mankind to experience a variety of living things uniquely adapted to their specific habitats, from the far north to the far south. In preparation for creating a perfect environment for life on Creation Days 5 and 6, God made the following adjustments to balance E arth's global temperatures on Creation Day 4.
Balancing the A bsorption and R efection of S unshine In order to keep Earth's atmosphere constantly stable for life, God had to create a fine balance between land and water's abilit ies to absorb and ref l ect incoming solar radiation. God creates land with a low heat capacity and oceans with a hight heat capacity Daytime Heat Capacity • God created land features ( sand, rocks and soil ) with the ability to quickly absorb incoming sunlight ( ultraviolet light ) & just as quickly release the trap ped heat (infrared light) into the surrounding air t o heat the atmosphere above. • God created water to do the opposite. The surface of earth's oceans and seas reflect most of the incoming sunshine during the day keeping the atmosphere above them cool.
Nighttime Heat Capacity At night, the opposite is true. Land, having a low heat capacity, cools off quickly once the sun sets and stops heating the atmosphere above. On the other hand, ocean waters have a tremendously high heat capacity that keep s the air above its watery surface warm
all night, and also, all year long!!
