Creation Day 4: God reveals His "heavenly clocks" in the night and day sky Balancing earth's distribution of ocean and land masses Continental land masses presently cover 68% of Earth's surface in the northern hemisphere and 32% in the southern hemisphere. There's more land in the northern hemisphere and more water in the south. With over double the land mass in the northern hemisphere, you would think that the north hemisphere would be hotter than the southern hemisphere, but it isn't.
Here is how God balanced Earth's temperatures in preparation for not only creating animal life on Creation Days 5 and 6, but also for today. Balancing the distance of Earth's aphelion and perihelion
Remember that the Earth orbits the Sun in an elliptical path—which is oval, not circular. This means that the Earth is about 3 million miles closer to the Sun in January at its nearest point than in July at its farthest point. • Aphelion is the point of the Earth’s orbit that is farthest away from the Sun. • Perihelion is the point of the Earth’s orbit that is nearest to the Sun. These words come from Ancient Greek, in which helios means “Sun,” apo means “far,” and peri means “close . " Isn’t it interesting that God adjusted Earth's orbit to be farthest from the Sun during the hot summer months and closest during the winter months?
