Creation Day 5 God creates animal life in Earth's waters and skies
Most of us have been taught (in schools and universities) that the fossil record provided Darwin with overwhelming evidence for his theory of evolution. Nothing could be further from the truth! The Cambrian explosion (recorded in rock layers worldwide) describes a dramatic event recorded in Genesis 1:20 when 50 to 80 percent of all known animal phyla appeared on Earth over a relatively short window of time (shown below).
Cambrian rock layers (collected worldwide) contain the oldest fossils of marine invertebrate groups, many of them completely developed as pictured below. The sudden appearance of complex multicellular marine animals serves as a signature for God’s direct intervention in Earth's history.
