Creation Day 5 God creates animal life in Earth's waters and skies

Meet the Ophs! Created to Fly on Creation Day 5

And Elohim said , "Let the waters swarm with living creatures. And let the oph עוֹף ( winged flying creatures ) soar above the earth across the expanse of the skies” . So Elohim created the great sea monsters, and every creeping living thing that swarms in the water according to its kind, and every oph עוֹף (winged flying creature) according to its kind. And Eloheim saw it was good. ~ Genesis 1:20-21

The original Hebrew word oph עוֹף tells us that God not only created birds on Creation Day Five, but all flying creatures. This little known translation allows us to see the Day Five time frame that God created flying insects as well. Fully preserved Day Five fossils of a winged dragonfly, a butterfly, a winged cicada and a cockroach.

Flying insects have no connection whatsoever with birds, and yet their wings for flight were fully developed in the Creation Day Five fossils displayed above. More amazing is the fact that each of these preserved fossils of ancient insects looks exactly the same as their present day species alive today!

People who don’t believe in a Creator have no explanation for the remarkable design features of an insect's wing or a bird's feathers. God made each of these creatures with different types of wings. Birds’ wings are made of feathers; insects’ wings are made of membranes or thin scales. A bird's flight feathers are remarkable features. When a bird raises its wing, the feathers move apart to let the air through and reduce resistance. But on the down-stroke, the feathers close completely, thus greatly improving lift. Also, a bird can vary the shape of its wings for more efficient take-off, gliding and landing.
