“be fruitful and multiply.” Let's go back in time. Subtract nine months from the day you wer e born. Now answer this question. How many cells made up your body the moment you were conceived? If your answer is one, you are correct !
According to the latest research, e very newborn baby's body is made up of over 26 trillion cells that work together in harmony to carry out all the basic functions necessary for humans to survive. How is that possible? How can a tiny fertilized cell (about the size of a speck of dust) quickly start divid ing so that one cell becomes two identical cells with duplicate internal organelles and DNA ? A day later, the two cells becomes fou r . Three days after conception, the four cells become eight and so on. This amazing process of rapid cell division is called
As days become weeks, these rapidly dividing cells inside the mother's womb start taking on specific jobs. Some cells will become heart cells, others nerve and bone cells and so on and so on. Groups of cells soon begin arranging themselves into functional organs. Nine months after conception, all of the internal organs are completely functional and a new baby is born.
