The Roles of DNA & RNA - God's Blueprints' for Life Think of DNA as a blueprint. Blueprints are a type of construction drawing that show s specific details of how a building is to be designed . Blueprints show the exact materials that are to be used, and where features like doors, windows, sinks, and appliances will go. As the master designer, God created DNA as the blueprint in creating all of the details life. He specifically placed each strand of DNA (known as a chromatid ) inside the cells of all plants and animals with the coded instructions ( A-T-C-G) for mak ing functional proteins , the building block s of life. RNA (ribonucleic acid) differs from DNA in the following ways. Where DNA appears as the famous “double helix” twisted hydrogen bond ladder held together by the nitrogen based pair rungs of Adenine (A), Thymine (T), Cytosine (C), and Guanine (G) , God created RNA as a single-strand sequence with Uracil, or "U” replacing Thymine .
