" A nd the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hover ing over the face of the waters. "

"The beginning is the most important part of the work.” Greek philosopher Plato Once again, I will start this new chapter by asking you some thought provoking questions. Are you ready? Let's begin. Just pretend for a moment you are that person standing in the picture above. Awestruck, you look up to witness an amazing sight. As far as your eyes can see, you observe a vast, seemingly unending universe filled, from horizon to horizon, with patches of glittering near-by stars surrounding bright clusters of distant, unknown celestial objects. No matter which way you turn, everything seems to glow in its proper place. Everything appears perfectly positioned. Standing alone on the mountaintop on that clear summer night, you might ask yourself the same questions all passionate truth seekers have asked themselves throughout time:

• Where does t he universe start and where does it end?

• How and when was the universe made?

• Why did God create the universe in the first place?
