Mankind's Final Gift f rom God: A free will to choose who they would serve.

In the middle of the Garden were two trees that Scripture names the “Tree of Life” and the “Tree of Knowledge of good and evil” (Genesis 2:9). We have to understand the necessity of these tree and why God had to place them in the Garden.

The Lord God created all kinds of trees to grow out of the ground , trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden w ere the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:9

Everlasting Life

Death

Never forget this important point. Love is "not love" unless it ' s a "choice." Out of all of His creation, God gave Adam and Eve, the first humans, a " free will " to " chose " to live in perfect harmony with Him forever in paradise with an "attitude of loving gratitude" for all the untold blessings God has given them. All God asked from Adam and Eve in return was to "chose to love Him" by obeying this simple request. They could eat the fruit from any tree planted in the garden, but "not the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil." God made a covenant ( an everlasting promise ) with Adam and Eve to refrain from eating the fruit from this tree so they would have a choice between receiving the eternal gifts and blessings that come through obedience to our loving and gracious Creator or suffer the consequences from disobedience (sinning) against their just God . Why God planted these trees with special “supernatural properties.”

The free will choice to love and obey God is still available.

The Tree of Sin & Death

The Tree of Life

S in is defined as disobeying God’s command to love and obey Him only . By eating the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil, Adam and Eve chose to separate themselves from God's love and forfeit all of their blessings.
