The Master Chef's 'List of Ingredients' for Genesis 1:2
וחשך על־פני תהום ורוח אלהים מרחפת על־פני המים׃ והארץ היתה תהו ובהו To fully comprehend how God prepared His ingredients for the creation of universe, we must return to His original Genesis 1:2 recipe written ( from right to left) in Hebrew.
" w aBohu t ohu h aytah WeHaAretz " "And the earth was formless and void "
• Genesis 1:2 begins with God stating a very important and misinterpreted fact - The earth was not present (formless and void) on Creation Day One. Genesis 1:2 simply records God's behind the scenes (in the heavenly realm) preparations that immediately precede s the beginning of the universe ( Genesis 1:3 ). The earth is not introduced until Creation Day Three . • The Hebrew words tohu and bohu literally mean wastefulness and emptiness. These words personify the conditions of chaos out of which the universe was formed. They also express a state immediately preceding creation before primeval matter (atoms and elements) was created.
