Creation Day T wo : Genesis 1: 6 - 8 6. And God said, “Let there be an expanse ( raqia ) ַ רָ קִיע in the midst of the waters ( mayim ) , מַיִם and let it separate the waters ( mayim ) from the waters ( mayim ). ” 7. And God made the expanse ( raqia ) and separated the waters ( mayim ) that were under the expanse ( raqia ) from the waters ( mayim ) that were above the expanse ( raqia ). And it was so. 8. And God called the expanse Heaven ( shamayim ) שָ ׁמַיִם . And there was evening ( ereb ) and there was morning ( boker ), the second day. Disorder to Order

Genesis 1:6 states that at the beginning of Creation Day Two, God made the "expanse" ( raqia ) . The Hebrew word raqia is translated to mean "to beat or spread out thinly. Genesis 1:6 goes on to state that God made the expanse ( raqia ) by separating the waters ( mayim ) that were under the expanse ( raqia ) from the waters ( mayim ) above the expanse (raqia). Creation Day Two ends ( Genesis 1:7 -8 ) when God names His newly created expanse Heaven ( shamayim ).
