Creation Day Three: Genesis 1: 9 - 13
9. Then God said, "Let the waters ( mayim ) מַיִם under the heavens ( shamayim ) שָ ׁמַיִם heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear"; and it was so. 10. And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good. 11. Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so. 12. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13. So the evening ( ereb ) and the morning (boker) were the third day.
Did you ever think stop and think about the air that you breathe into your lungs ? You breathe in an average of 21 breaths per minute, every minute of every day . Also, you never need to think of breathing. Your respiratory system does that automatically for you. The air you breathe is a very precious thing. You can’t survive longer than 3 minutes without breathing in the 21% oxygen in the air that is produced solely by plants by the process of photosynthesis . In Chapter 8 , you will discover the science of how God prepared the earth on Creation Day 3 to be a beautiful place with just the right amounts of oxygen in the air and waters for future humans and animals to both live and thrive.
