Creation Day 2: The Stretching of the Raqia

78

Before I go on to explain how God stretched out the raqia - His heavenly expanse - in all directions with light years passing by in a moment of time, I need to first go back and teach you about Albert Einstein's most famous scientific discovery, the Theory of Relativity . Most people think Einstein's Theory of Relativity is a really hard scientific concept that only smart people can understand, but they are wrong. Just remember these t h ree simple scientific facts: • When you look up into space, you are looking back in time ; • Everything in the universe - space, distance and time – changes as you approach the speed of light ; • The only thing that does not change in the universe is the speed of light – 186,000 miles per sec. or 300,000 kilometers per sec.

All of Albert Einstein's physicist friends in 1905 thought they knew what light was. Whether from the sun or an incandescent light bulb, scientists knew, without a doubt, that light was a series of waves that originated from a source and spread out evenly and continuously throughout space, traveling at a fixed constant rate of 186,000 miles per second or 300,000 kilometers per second, known as the speed of light.
