Its 2003, a typical Sunday morning. The season of winters is upon us and it is quite unusual to get up and leave your bed. Since it is Sunday, it is a family day and so your father has planned an exciting day out for you. You get up with a sudden rush of excitement and you start wondering what to wear. Then, in comes your mom with an outfit already selected for you – a blue jeans and a black turtleneck. Sounds awful doesn’t it? Back in the day turtlenecks were considered the most awful attire to wear. All of our childhoods have one thing in common and that is turtleneck. Our moms were so fond of turtlenecks they didn’t think of any other outfit even considerable. Despite the fact turtlenecks make you look adorable, it was also the most hated outfit by almost all of us when we were young. We thought of it as a ‘punishment’ outfit. As the eras changed and fashion evolved we are again back in the day when turtlenecks set the trend. In the 21st century turtlenecks have become the permanent part of trend. They are now popular among many of the influencers, fashion icons and models. It is now basically the go to outfit which is suitable in all the event. The revival of turtlenecks has left other tees and shirts out of league. It is easy to pair with anything, comes in whole lot of colors and comes in comfortable fabrics.

POPPING COLORS IN FASHION

In the early times, turtleneck used to come in only the basic colors which were black, beige and white so that it can be worn under shirts and tees to keep you safe and warm in breezy winters. But in today’s day there are as many colors as you want available. Turtlenecks are no longer worn under other clothes just to serve the purpose of keeping you warm rather it is now more of an individual outfit. Some colors have the audacity to remain long lasting and ever green. No matter what era or century it is, some colors never go out of style. These are the colors that bring out personalities of individuals the best. Black, White and Grey. The 21st century’s generation is more leaned towards subtle and elegant appearance when it comes to colors. They prefer blacks and whites the most. When it comes to turtlenecks, whites and black are easy to pair with any or most of the bottoms. Be it skinny or narrow jeans, high waist or bell bottoms, pant suit styled pants they are a perfect match. With whites and blacks you can pair it with blue, black or beige color bottoms of choice.
