6 Bicycle & Pedestrian Facilities

6.1 Existing Facilities Bicycling infrastructure in South Hillsborough County exists in the form of shared-use trails, side paths, and painted on-street bike lanes (Figure 42). Current bicycle facilities in the study area include:  US 301 (from Gibsonton Drive to Balm Road) in the form of a side path and on-street bike lanes;  US-41 (from Gibsonton to Ruskin) in the form of on-street bike lanes;  State Road 674 (from Kings Boulevard to US 301) in the form of a shared-use path

The 2025 Comprehensive Pedestrian Plan identifies priority corridors with high levels of pedestrian demand that are missing sidewalks, as well as sidewalk gaps on arterial and collector roads. Figure 43 identifies corridors with committed funding, cost affordable priority corridors, unfunded priority corridors, and sidewalk gaps.
