Rusken Packaging Receives ISO Certification At GSI In Mississippi Cullman, Alabama based Rusken Packaging Inc. an- nounced that its Great Southern Industries (GSI) division in Jackson, Mississippi, is now ISO 9001:2015 certified. Beginning this project in January of 2022, the company strived to implement guidelines that adhere to the ISO standards by their September 26, 2022 audit deadline. As a Quality Management System (QMS), the ISO cer- tification encompasses document control and planning, management responsibilities, utilizing resources, product realization, corrective and preventative actions, as well as risk management. To better serve its customers and part- ners, achieving this certification allows for continual im- provement processes, as well as greater standardization of policies and procedures. These focused efforts support Rusken’s quality policy and efforts to ensure that its customers receive the high- est quality products, which encompasses everything from the raw materials to the manufacturing processes, and ul- timately, the final delivered product. GSI represents Rusken’s second ISO-certified facility. Rusken was founded by Bobby Rusk in 1974, and today operates 17 facilities in eight states. In recent years, Rusken has announced several acqui- sitions, including Select Products Inc. in Manchester, Ten- nessee; D&D Packaging Inc. in Olive Branch, Mississippi, in 2022; and Nelson Packaging of Cowpens, South Caro- lina, in 2021. Maui Brewing Company Transitions To Recyclable Cartons For Craft Beer Kihei, Hawaii based Maui Brewing Company (MBC) an- nounced its pledge towards sustainability with a transition to new packaging for all products, not only limited to craft beer but also including Maui Brewing’s Island Sodas, Maui Hard Seltzer, and Kupu Spirits. The 100 percent recyclable cardboard cartons are man- ufactured from sustainably managed forests in the south- east U.S. and contains up to 15 percent recycled content. The Coated Natural Kraft paperboard is fully recyclable and designed to stand up to the rigorous packaging con- ditions associated with beverage products that go in and out of refrigeration.
