thankful that all saloons close next July. We only wish they would close immedi­ ately. This month Bible study classes were started in thè homes on various leases, and hope to continue them during the winter. There is a very great need along this line, for few Christians seem to know the sim­ ple Gospel. We are using the Scofield sys­ tem and it seems to hold the interest and is blessed of the Lord. . Good open air meetings have been held at different points, and at the Sunday baseball games. The Gospel is preached from à Ford car and Gospel hymns played on the phonograph. The fields are full of backsliders and those who have departe’d from God. How solemn the word in 2 Chron. 28, where the wicked Ahaz “Sacrificed unto the gods of

Damascus, which smote him, for he said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria help them, therefore will I sacrifice unto them that they may help me; but they were the ruin of him and of all Israel.’’ What a picture of these; last days! This wicked Ahaz answers well to Mary Baker Eddy, who, through her blasphemy, has shut up many a “door of the house of the Lord, and put out the lamps.” Only last week a printed Gospel message was offered to one of her follow­ ers: “Would you accept a little message from the Word of God?” She answered in a scornful way: “You can keep your mes­ sage; I am interested in nothing but Sci­ ence.” We replied, “He that rejecteth me and my words, hath one that judgeth him; the Word which I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”
