THE KING’S BUSINESS

God.” This is the girl who bears fruit. makes her own choice. Life that isn’t lived Every girl is in one of these four classes. in Christ, and for Christ, isn’t worth the No girl need remain where she is.( Each , living. “Take heed therefore, how ye hear.

That means, “look.” “The .sower went forth to sow.” (Use the pictures of the four kinds of soil and pin one up as each is described). Then He said, “Not all the seed the man is sowing will grow. Don’t you see that some is falling in the road, people will step on it and the birds eat it. Some on that rocky ground where there is not enough 'soil. Some seeds are falling among thorny weeds ; they will never grow to have fruit, but all that you see dropping on the good ground will sink into it and grow. In just a few days the sower will see the tiny little green leaves coming up through the earth. They will grow higher and higher, and after a time the heads of grain will wave in the wind. As it ripens it will turn yellow and be cut down to be put into the barns. When they measure the grain there will be many times more than all that was sown in the beginning.” After the Great Teacher had finished talking that day, He and Hi's friends went into a house together, perhaps to eat. While there, some one said, “Master, what did you mean when you told the story about the sower?” Then the Lord Jesus told them that every person who hears the Word of God is like one of these pictures. Which would you rather be like? (Empha size the good, do not touch the negative). How can you be like this one? Yes, by not only hearing His word, but like good 'soil, letting it grow in you by doing what it says. The more people there are in a country ’ in whom the.Word of God is growing, the better that country becomes. Shall, we tell Him that we want His word to grow in ■each one of us so' that when* we grow up we shall have helped to maje our country a better place because we have lived in it? Prayer.

M EMORY VERSE: “Be.ye doers of the, word and not hearers only.”—Jame’s 1 : 22 . Preparation .—FIow many of you have a baby in your home ? What can the baby do today that he could not do a month ago? Why is the baby changing? Yes, because he is growing. Why is he grow ing? Because he has life. This is true *>f our pets and the flowers ahd us. All living things grow. God says that the Bible is the'Word of Life and that it is living. How can the Bible grow and change? It grows in peo ple who love and obey it. They are changed by it (Memory verse). I have some seed from the'word of God that, I am going to plant today.' (Have some papers cut , in the shape of a seed on which write some short' verse already known by ..the children, as, “Children, obey your parents.” “Be ye kind,”, etc. Take from between the pages of your Bible and distribute). Each time you obey father or mother, or. are kind and loving you are helping these seeds to grow, God is helping you a's they grow, for He has given them life, and day by day you are ■changed till you become the man or woman God would have you be. Presentation .—I think this is- what the Lord Jesus was telling the people one day in Capernaum. , (Let thé children, describe the city and country), The Master was sitting in a boat near the shore, teaching a great crowd of people. He had with Him the twelve friends He had chosen. They were in the boat, too. You could have seen the orange orchards and vineyards, but I think a hillside near had been plowed and was ready for the seed to be planted. I believe there was a man with a sack over his shoulder, taking the seed out of it and sprinkling it over the ground with his hands, as they used to do in those days^: because the Lord Jesus said, “Behold!”
