TIMESHARE OWNER LEGAL DECLARATIONS

Newton Group has hundreds of sworn legal declarations from timeshare owners in which they recount their appalling and painful experiences with timeshare sales representatives.

Following are a few exercepts:

“We received a written communication from (our resort) that discouraged owners from hiring an attorney or any third party in an attempt to cancel timeshare contracts. The letter advised that [our resort] would be willing to work with us directly...After spending approximately five hours we reluctantly agreed to a membership purchase that provided us with 15,000 points for a total purchase price of $56,100... We felt that we were misled into making an additional purchase when that was not what we desired to do. We don’t feel that [our resort] was interested in listening to our concerns, and rather used our visit as an opportunity to upsell us.” --Sworn legal Declaration “We are suffering severe emotional distress over what [Resort Name] has done to us. The financial distress of being deceived into purchasing over $61,000 of more points, which cannot afford has been compounded by the fact that the purchase was done by credit cards...” --Sworn legal Declaration “We have been prevented on more than on occasion from using a timehsare interest that we own by deed for unexplained reasons, despite our payments of annual assesments...” --Sworn legal Declaration "We were promised by the salespeople that the points we were being sold would be enough to get into any of the [Resorts] at any time and that we could call the salesperson who would personally assist us to make sure we were able to book the reservations we wanted. This became a recurring theme of unfulfilled promises by [Resort] representatives." --Sworn Legal Declaration "All of the paper signing and initializing happened at the end of the sales presentations when we had waning attention. It was more than four hours before we could leave.” --Sworn Legal Declaration "We told the [sales representative] that we could not afford an upgrade... As a result, the [Resort] sales staff leveraged our grandchildren against us and made comments such as: "who can't afford another $100 per month" and "don't you love your kids." After more than four hours of that sort of humiliating treatment, we believed the only way we could get out of there was to agree to purchase more points." --Sworn Legal Declaration "We were also specifically told that if we later decided that we did not want the timeshare, we should stop paying on it and the resort would take it back or we could sell it. A broker has since tried to sell the timeshare for us and was unable to... We have consistently asked the resort to take back the timeshare. All we got was the runaround." --Sworn Legal Declaration
