Saudi Spotlight Client

SPOTLIGHT SERIES: THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA

Client Edition October 2024

Your Strategic Hiring Partners in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

WELCOME

Welcome to our second edition of MRG’s Spotlight Series. The first, released in 2023, focused on supporting candidates in their decision to join real estate projects that we regularly recruit for. You’re now reading the Client Edition, designed to inform our clients of recent changes in salaries, benefits and our methodologies, which showcases why we’re the recruitment partner of choice for many clients in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. MRG Global has been supporting large scale real estate projects in the Kingdom since 2020, where clients have repeatedly used our services to run multi-hire campaigns, from managers to C-level professionals in real estate, facilities management, construction and hospitality. In our experience working with giga-projects and associated supply chains, we have understood the critical role a talented and dedicated team plays in a project’s success. Sourcing that talent can be a pressure point in fast-paced giga-projects, one that we can support. Our team has an in-depth understanding of the KSA built environment landscape, ensuring we identify candidates who align seamlessly with your organisational goals. Warm regards,

Matt Donovan Regional Director MENA, MRG Davina Cooper General Manager KSA, MRG Oliver Piltz Managing Director Asia, MRG

UNDERSTANDING THE LOCAL CANDIDATE CLIMATE SAUDIZATION There is a significant demand for labour in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia across various sectors, such as oil, construction, and real estate. The ongoing giga-projects require a vast pool of talent, which often goes to talent outside of KSA despite the high unemployment level. As a recruitment and search firm with extensive experience recruiting into the Saudi Arabian market, MRG understands and values the importance of Saudization in promoting economic growth and increasing employment opportunities for Saudi Nationals. As your recruitment partner, MRG is committed to supporting your Saudization efforts and ensuring the prioritisation of Saudi Arabian candidates in our recruitment processes. Our recruitment strategy will align closely with your Saudization targets to ensure that the local workforce is actively engaged and integrated into our recruitment processes as a priority, where available. In the last 12 months, we are proud to have achieved a 32% Saudi candidate submission ratio to our clients in the Kingdom.

OUR COMMITMENT TO EMPOWERING SAUDI CULTURE Recognising the importance of cultural sensitivity in recruitment, we undergo annual comprehensive Saudi Cultural training. This initiative equips our team with the knowledge and understanding necessary to navigate the cultural and social nuances of the local market, facilitating more meaningful interactions with Saudi talent. Moreover, we are proud to announce the launch of our Regional Hub in Riyadh which opened in September 2024. This expansion represents our commitment to establishing a strong local presence and fostering closer connections with the local workforce. By being on the ground, we aim to actively engage with Saudi talent, understand their aspirations and challenges, and provide tailored recruitment solutions to meet our customer’s needs. Our Regional Hub will be a centre for collaboration, innovation, and partnership, allowing us to serve our clients better and contribute to advancing Saudization initiatives.

I am thrilled to be the first from MRG on the ground in Riyadh. We launched the office in September 2024, working closely with our teams in London, Kuala Lumpur, Cape Town and Mumbai. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an exciting place to be, rich in history and culture whilst simultaneously being at the cutting edge of technology and innovation. Its scale and ambition in all things, particularly construction, are thrilling and show that this is the place of the future. Personally, I have a long history in the Middle East, having lived and worked here for over twenty years, and I am excited about the prospect of being in KSA for its next

chapter, the age of the giga-projects. Davina Cooper, General Manager KSA, The Management Recruitment Group (MRG)

WOMEN AT WORK

According to the KSA government’s budget report 2023, women’s labour market participation rates have steadily increased. In the second quarter of 2023, the rate surged to 35%, surpassing the Saudi Vision 2030 target of 30%. The upward trend in hiring is expected to continue in 2024, with more women joining the workforce. Such growth underscores the significance and efficacy of women’s employment initiatives. Integrating women into the workforce addresses the shortage of qualified candidates and is excellent for fostering diversity and inclusivity. At MRG, we have observed encouraging statistics, with 22% of the individuals we placed in the Middle East in 2023 being women. As advocates for inclusivity in recruitment, we champion and support the advancement of women in the construction, real estate and property industries.
