Drug raid in Alfred-Plantagenet Township
an incident Sept. 9, just before midnight in Alfred-Plantagenet Township, when police intercepted a blue 2002 GMC Sonoma pic- kup truck on County Road 9. The truck was impounded for seven days and Chayita’s driver’s licence suspended on the spot for 90 days. Chayita is also charged under the Ontario Liquor Licence Act with having an open container of liquor while driving a motor vehicle. Drug seizure Eric Dupuis, 28, of Alfred-Plantagenet Township, is charged with possession of ma- rijuana under 30 grams in amount and with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking following an incident Sept. 30 inHawkesbury. Police intercepted a white 2009 Mazda 3 which Dupuis was dri- ving along Nelson Street West. A computer check showed Dupuis’ driver’s licence was suspended and a search of the vehicle turned a quantity of drugs with an estimated street value of $1,000. Dupuis is also charged with driving while
his licence was suspended. He was released and is scheduled for provincial court in L’Ori- gnal on Oct. 26. Stolen generator Police are asking for help in recovering a stolen generator following an August theft report from Alfred-Plantagenet Township. A 2012 Doosan 550-volt mobile diesel ge- nerator, grey in colour, with serial number 447828UJWE25, was taken froma Peat Moss Road property sometime before 10:30 p.m., Aug. 13. The generator value is $110,000. Anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the generator can call Det-Const. Police used a search warrant to execute a drug raid on a residence in Alfed-Plantage- net Township, in early October. Kevin Chenier, 26, of Alfred-Plantagenet Township, was arrested Oct. 4 and now faces several charges under the Criminal Code and federal drug control regulations. Officers from the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, the Community Drug Action Team, the Emergency Response Team, and the K9 Unit were involved in the raid. They seized an unspecified amount of methampheta- mine tablets, cocaine, andmarijuana, along withmaterials used for selling narcotics, and some Canadian currency. Chenier is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, pos- session of cannabis resin, and possession of other drugs for the purpose of trafficking, and with possession of proceeds obtained by crime. The combined value of the sei- zure, including currency and street value of the drugs seized is estimated at more than $6,900. Chenier was released on his own reco- gnizance and is scheduled for provincial court Nov. 2 in L’Orignal. Impaired driving ChayitaMeier, 40, of Clarence-Rockland is charged with driving with a blood-alcohol content exceeding 80 milligrams following
