Mares by JUSTIFY, SCAT DADDY, INTO MISCHIEF and NOT THIS TIME could bring out the best in Fierceness. Quality Road has also thrived with daughters of DIXIE UNION , broodmare sire of three of his G1SWs, including KLIMT . Quality Road has G1SWs out of grand-daughters of A.P. INDY , including two out of mares by BERNARDINI and another out of a MALIBU MOON mare. BERNARDINI , who numbered the Jim Dandy and Travers Stakes among his successes, sired Fierceness’ Travers Stakes-winning broodmare sire Stay Thirsty. The chances are that Fierceness will do well with daughters of TAPIT , who create 5x4 to both A.P. Indy and Unbridled. The likes of MALIBU MOON , FLATTER, CONGRATS, MINESHAFT and PULPIT create only 5x3 to A.P. INDY. DEPUTY MINISTER mares had two G1SWs, including champion Abel Tasman, among their small number of foals by Quality Road. who also sired the top-class City of Light from a mare by Deputy Minister’s son DEHERE . Mares by AWESOME AGAIN produce 5x3 to DEPUTY MINISTER with Fierceness and daughters of GHOSTZAPPER are a likeable option for him. City of Light has only one distant line of MR PROSPECTOR and Fierceness’ dam Nonna Bella is inbred 5x4 to Mr Prospector’s influential son FAPPIANO . These lines are so distant that they allow Fierceness mares by such as UNBRIDLED’S SONG, EMPIRE MAKER, CANDY RIDE, GUN RUNNER, PIONEEROF THE NILE and AMERICAN PHAROAH . Other options are SMART STRIKE and CURLIN (whose daughters produce 5x4 to Deputy Minister). Quality Road also owes two of his G1SWs to grand-daughters of DANZIG , with Bleecker Street having a dam by EXCHANGE RATE and Illuminant being out of a POLISH NUMBERS mare. The SADLER’S WELLS line must also be considered for Fierceness. Quality Road’s top-class son National Treasure has a dam by MEDAGLIA D’ORO , and Quality Road’s first 19 starters out of mares by GALILEO include two Graded/ Group winners. Quality Road has also had G2 success with Road To Success (out of a TIZNOW mare) and Agate Road (out of a mare by Tiznow’s son GEMOLOGIST ).
