Work Experience

• Experience of shaping, planning and delivering a strategic vision for enhancing the University’s energy and sustainability performance. • Experience in delivering successful energy efficient building and refurbishment projects and of developing and managing energy projects from inception to completion including developing the business case and return on investment. • Hands on experience of managing utility procurement contracts, overseeing supplier performance and challenging records, statements and utility bills. An understanding of the energy market and risks and opportunities. Success in taking direct responsibility for a significant energy and utilities budgets in excess of £3m per annum and reporting on energy and utility price trends and highlighting risks. • Proven success in developing and presenting energy performance and budget reports for a range of audiences and in leading the production of an annual sustainability report for a large institution.

• Developing systems and proce-dures for wide application. • Experience of delivering an insti-tutional change programme.

• Experience of devising, implementing and managing extensive carbon and energy awareness campaigns.

• Business management demonstrating sound commercial awareness.

Education/ Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in an appropriate environmental and/or property related discipline i.e. Sustainability, Energy Engineering, Energy/ Environmental Management, Building Services. • Membership of a recognised professional body such as CIBSE, the Energy Institute, IMech E, IWFM.

• Post graduate qualification in environmental issues.

• Management qualification.

• Project management qualification.
