Hypothesis 6. Reported Secure Adult Attachment will account for more variance

in a personal relationship with God than will perceived Secure Childhood

Attachment.

The hypothesis suggests that Secure Adult Attachment would be the best

predictor of Vertical Faith Maturity. This hypothesis was supported. The equation explained 26% of the variance and the overall effect was significant (F = 9.20; £. < .01). The control variable Age was significant in predicting Vertical Faith Maturity (t = 2.18; £. < .05). As hypothesized, Secure Adult Attachment (t = 7.59; £. < .01) was

the best predictor of Vertical Faith Maturity (see Table 7).
