A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 11

We’ve reached a significant milestone with our Year 11 students as they’ve completed their final full teaching week at school. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re excited to celebrate their achievements next week with two special events. First up, mark your calendars for Dress Up Day on Tuesday 7 May! It’s a day filled with fun and creativity as our students strut their stuff in their most imaginative costumes. Here’s a quick rundown of the day’s schedule:

08:20 - 08:35: Arrivals and photo ops outside the school 08:35 - 09:00: Tutor time 09:00 - 10:00: Period 1 (normal lesson) 10:05 - 10:50: Period 2 10:50 - 11:20: Staff vs. Students Benchball 11:25 - 12:00: Dress Up Day Parade in the Sports Hall 12:00 - 12:10: Dismissal and Departure

To keep up with all the excitement leading up to Dress Up Day, we are encouraging students to follow our official school Instagram page, @waldegraveschool . We’re running a #WaldegraveLeavers2024 campaign, featuring event details, reminders, and interactive activities like polls and games. Parents and carers, join in too, as we’ll be providing live coverage of the event on our social media platforms. Following the festivities, we’re looking forward to welcoming you to the Year 11 Celebration morning on Wednesday 8 May. It’s a time to reflect, celebrate, and bid farewell to our amazing students before they embark on their exams. As part of our commitment to supporting students during this crucial time, they’ll receive a schedule of targeted revision support sessions led by our dedicated subject staff. These sessions are strategically planned to coincide with the day before each exam, ensuring maximum effectiveness. Look out for detailed information in the Examinations Google classroom and in communication sent out to families soon. Please note that Monday 6 May is a bank holiday, so students are not to come into school. We hope you have a lovely extended weekend and we look forward to seeing as many of you at our Leavers assembly!
