For large building materials we provide descriptions, data sheets, supply and delivery details backed up by a fast ‘request a quote’ service online.”
However, the digital universe, can never take the place of the face-to- face customer/staff relations, which will always remain at the heart of Killeen Hardware’s operations. “We’re here to work with customers, not just to get a sale,” said David. “A lot of our business comes through word of mouth, so we go the extra mile to make sure customers are happy.”
David Hughes, grandson and son of the original founders is now looking after the day-to-day running of the company and is aiming to ensure its success for future generations by embracing the growth potential of online trading. To this end, the mega-stocked builders’ merchant has just relaunched a brand-new click-to-buy/quote website. The online option is a natural evolution for this customer- focused company, which first opened its doors in 1983.
