The self-taught craftsman has built a reputation across Northern Ireland for his random rubble style, but he is equally at ease delivering more traditional stonework. I’ve not worked with before, or if it’s something I’ve not built previously.” He recently completed a 250m 2 new build project on the banks of the River Erne, Enniskillen using 4ft x 2ft Donegal sandstone, which illustrates his big build ambitions! Once a project is agreed with a client and builder, Emmet will source the stone from quarries or reclaimed stone from old barns, houses and walls. “Over the years I’ve built good relations with all the local quarries, which means I’m able to source stone at very good prices.
