G ENERAL R EQUIREMENT TO GWO L IFT U SER TRAINING
Upon completion of the GWO Lift User Training (LU), participants will be aware of the risks and hazards encountered in the use of lifts within the wind industry. Furthermore, they will be able to control and mitigate those risks and hazards. The GWO Lift User Training Module will also equip participants with the ability to take responsibility and appropriately respond in the event of a hazardous situation and to increase their safety through proper use of personal protective equipment, emergency equipment, procedures and safe craftsmanship.
Overview
The GWO Lift User training is a mix of theoretical and practical elements focusing on developing the needed knowledge, skills and abilities for a wind employee to operate and evacuate a lift in a WTG. The training has a generic focus in relation to different lift types and brands, and the initiative to seek guidance when needed is a basic part of the learning objectives for this training.
Target group
Personnel working on WTGs within the wind industry where the use of lifts is required for transportation of personnel and equipment inside the WTG.
Aims and objectives
Training in accordance with this standard will enable participants to take responsibility to support and care for themselves and others while using a lift in the wind industry by possessing the required knowledge, skills and ability to conduct assigned tasks and operations in a lift safely and efficiently.
