A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 7

As we approach the end of a very long term, the continued enthusiasm of our Year 7 students is a delight to behold! The Year 7 Bake Off competition reached its thrilling conclusion on Monday with some wonderful cakes being baked and presented for judgement. The Food Technology room was a hive of activity and it was lovely to see the enthusiasm of our bakers as they went about their work. Congratulations to Eva, Eliza and Bella in 7SSH who won a very close competition and well done to all of the Year 7 bakers who contributed to a very enjoyable competition.

The Lindt Christmas competition ended today. Mr Parker and myself will have the difficult job of selecting finalists. The standard of the designs submitted has been extremely high and it is clear that a great deal of time and effort has been spent on this.

The termly housepoint competition is approaching a thrilling conclusion! The winners will be announced in Tuesday’s celebration assembly but the form groups leading the way this week are 7PIR, 7SSH and 7PUN. How will this affect the overall totals? We will have to wait until Tuesday to find out!

Today a number of students have spent the day at St. Augustine’s Church where they are busy rehearsing for the Carol Concert taking place later tonight. We hope everyone has a lovely evening at this event.

On Thursday 14 December, we have an extremely festive day for Year 7 with the Christmas lunch and the opportunity to wear a Christmas jumper over their uniform in place of the usual school jumper. Students and their families are kindly requested to make a donation either via ParentPay or our JustGiving page, with all proceeds going to Save the Children. Please note that if your child does not wish to partake in the Christmas lunch on this day, they should purchase food at break instead.
