Scholarships We offer several scholarships to our members to help them advance the profession. The Diane McClendon Scholarship recognizes HR professionals who have demonstrated a commitment to the field of HR. The Drew Young Scholarship assists undergraduate and graduate students preparing for work in the field of HR management and the Excellence in Education Student Scholarship is awarded to students currently in school seeking HR degrees. Three recipients received scholarships for $1,500.

Grants In its second year, the Chapter Grant Program provides any DallasHR member the opportuni- ty to advance their career through professional development. By applying for a Chapter Grant, members receive financial assistance to achieve their educational goals. Active chapter members can apply for any grant throughout the year. There were 23 grants awarded this year. Appli- cations are open year-round. Preference is given to members with more than one year of active membership and to those who have attended Education Events in the past.

Awards Attendance and sponsorship comparisons are not available. HRSTAR Awards were not given out in 2020. DallasHR celebrates the local HR community with HRSTAR awards. Nominated by their peers, recipients (individuals and com- panies) are movers and shakers in the HR industry. Nomi- nees are recognized on stage for 10 different awards during the HRSTARS Award Gala including the industry’s best HR Executive of the Year and Recruiting Team of the Year.
