“I have had to think about the future a bit more as at the age of 42 I am among the youngest here,” Mr Summers said. “So we want to be able to recruit young and talented staff, but we also want to keep hold of the talent we have too. “With Jake, we have a plan for him to go into the side of the business he wants to and that’s important, not only for his development but for us too. “Part of that role will be to train whoever comes in, that way the staff training remains current and relevant. “I’ve joked with him about the way I started with the company and worked my way up to buying it from Pete and that one day I am expecting him to knock on my door. “It was the way it worked for me and I would love for one day that to happen and for the boot to be on the other foot” l For more information about Elmrep, their products and services visit www.elmrep.co.uk or call 01452 300959
