Remember the film Field of Dreams where Kevin Costner plays a farmer who hears a mysterious voice tell him to build a baseball field? ‘Build it and they will come’ is the line that he hears… Build it he does and soon his farm is home to a huge crowd of legendary players who use the hitherto redundant field. Think of that movie for a moment when considering the future of the British high street. And no, we have not taken leave of our senses, it’s merely a metaphor for what needs to happen to

revive our town centres. Build it and they will come – is what needs to happen.
