exclusively to the interests of professional Construction and Program Management. The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of CMAA covers all of Penn- sylvania east of Pittsburgh, Delaware, and Central and Southern New Jersey. The CMAA annual awards pro- gram presents awards in eleven categories with one winner chosen from each cate- gory. The selection of winners involves an extensive review process which analyzes how successfully a project was managed by the construction manager and the owner. The CMAA judges the specific ways a project is an example of the successful application of construction management principals and standards. It also judges how the specific needs of the project or owner were addressed by using con- struction management. At more than 60,000 square feet, the Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building is now the largest building on the Berks campus. The building includes nine classrooms, nine computer labs and fifty faculty offices to go along with an assortment of new, cutting-edge technolo- gies. Substantial completion of the building occurred in October of 2011. “It has always been our phi- losophy that the Construction Management method pro- duces the best project results due to the collaboration of the entire team including the owner, architect, construction firm and subcontractors. It is gratifying to the entire team to see the results of this col- laboration recognized with an award from CMAA, the organization that champions the CM method,” says Greg Butz, president and CEO of Alvin H.
