Yourrotatorcuff iscomprisedofthemusclesandtendonssurroundingyourshoulder joint. According to the American Physical Therapy Association, “A recent study from Finlandasserts thatwhen itcomes to treatmentofnontraumatic rotatorcuff tears, physical therapy alone producesresultsequaltothoseproducedbyarthroscopicsurgeryandopensurgical repair.” In this same study, a follow-up on 167 patients receiving physical therapy alonefortheirrotatorcuff injuries,demonstratedthatconservativetreatment,such asphysicaltherapy,shouldbeconsideredastheprimarytreatmentforthiscondition.
