Hometown herd Packet

April, 20 2018

Enclosed you will find information regarding Alameda County Fair’s Hometown Herd Community Moo-tification Project. The objective of the Hometown Herd project is to celebrate the different communities of Alameda County through a fun, collaborative, annual event. Designated groups will each paint a life-size, fiberglass dairy cow statue to represent their community for display at the 2018 Alameda County Fair. Proceeds raised from the Hometown Herd project will fund The Farm – a new educational resource for Bay Area elementary school students. Currently in development, The Farm will be a high-tech, model farm & learning facility where kids can learn science, technology, engineering, agriculture and mathematics (STEAM) in a fun, nurturing environment. It will be located on the Fairgrounds property. The project was launched last year with three participating communities – Pleasanton, Dublin and Livermore – and will expand this year to include more. Eventually we hope to have all cities in Alameda County represented. We would love to welcome your city into our “Herd” this year. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon! Sincerely,

Tiffany Burrow Assistant Manager Community Outreach and Programming Alameda County Fair
