Goal Statement: To reduce summer learning loss in all students and create a culture that values year-round reading

Underlying Conditions : Provide students and families with increased access to high-interest, just-right books and learning opportunities over the summer

- Partners * and/or schools plan and prepare book celebrations - Scholastic provides high-interest, just-right books for students to select to build their home libraries - Partners and/or schools provide volunteers to plan and prepare for Family Reading Nights - Scholastic provides resources to support Family Literacy Events

- Partners and/or schools work to execute book celebrations - Students self-select high-interest, just-right books to own, take home, and read over the summer - Students receive books before summer break - Partners and/or schools sponsor Family Reading Nights where families learn strategies to support children’s learning - Partners, schools, and the larger community communicate the importance of summer reading to students and families

- Students have access to high-interest, just-right books at home over the summer - Students are engaged with reading year-round - Partners and/or schools and the community create a positive atmosphere around summer learning - Partners and/or schools and the community celebrate and encourage summer learning - Students and families have positive experiences with summer learning - Families engage children with literacy strategies to support summer learning
