Christian Fundamentals Association SIXTH ANNUAL CONVENTION Jane 8 to 15, 1924

VII. We believe in “ that blessed hope,” the personal, premillennial and imminent return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. VIII. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit ,and thereby become children of God. IX. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting felicity of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost. Dr. W. B. Riley of Minneapolis, Executive Secretary of the Association, was the host of this meeting and is now engaged in making extensive arrangements for the great meeting in June. A large number of guésts will be enter tained in the dormitories of the Northwestern Bible School at far less than usual hotel rates/ Already a number of notable’ speakers are engaged including Mr. William Jen nings Bryan who it is now expected will open the Conven tion on June 8th. The editor of The King’s Business had hoped to be pre sent at the February meeting, but found it impossible owing to press of business. However, he is planning to attend the June Convention, and on behalf, of the Association, extends a cordial invitation to all the friends and readers of The King’s Business to be present also. The need for fellowship and cooperation among all Fundamentalists deepens as the days go by. Love for our Lord, love for His Word, love for the lost, should inspire us to unite with all true believ ers, in this crisis time, and fight for the faith once for all delivered.

The great new auditorium of the First Baptist Church, Minneapolis, Minn., Jackson Hall and the djormitories“ of the Northwestern Bible School will all be at the com mand of the Sixth Annual Convention of the World’s Chris tian Fundamentals Association, June 8th to 15th. It is ex pected that this will be, in attendance, the largest meeting yet held by the Association. Certainly the interest in Christian fundamentals was never so widespread as now, and the ‘War in the Churches’ is such as to assure throngs in attendance upon the sessions of the coming convention. From February 10th to 17th, at Minneapolis, a number of editors, members; of the Publicity Committee of the Christian Fundamentals Association, were in Conference. Mr. Sidney T. Smith of Winnipeg, president of the Associa tion, presided, while the meetings were attended and ad dressed by such men as Dr. J. Frank Norris, of Fort Worth, Texas, editor of “ The Searchlight,” Dr. W. Leon Tucker of New York, editor of “The Wonderful Word;” Dr. A. C. Gaebelein of New York, editor of ‘‘Our Hope;” Dr. R. K. Maiden of Kansas City, editor of “ Word and Way,” Dr. W. B. Riley of Minneapolis, editor of “ Christian Fundamentals in School and Church” and the “ Baptist Beacon,” and others. In these conferences the following points were stressed. First; the fact that the World’s Christian Fundamentals Association is a non-denominational, strictly evangelical movement, and is not to be identified nor confused with Baptist Fundamentalists or Presbyterian Fundamentalists in organization, but is the world-wide movement fighting for all the things for which the various denominational Fundamentalists stand. For six years this international movement has waxed in influence and power, and the Publicity Committee recom mend that conferences for constructive Bible study be held in every state or province, county and church where de sired, insofar as speakers can be secured for the same. It was also decided to give the months of April and May to a nation-wide campaign in the interest of the Christian Fundamentals. These are expressed in the following nine points. I. We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired of God, and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life. II. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. III. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. IV. We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also that spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful na ture, and, in the case of those who reach moral responsibil ity, become sinners in thought, word and deed. V. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all that believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. VI. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and in His pre sent life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate.
