HOW TO GET STARTED Getting in touch with one of our showrooms in Bath, Swindon, or Winchester, is the first part of the process. You can call, email, or visit in person. Each showroom is open Monday to Saturday by appointment. You will talk to one of our friendly, experienced design team who will listen to you tell them about your exciting new project and what you wish to achieve. They will ask questions to help you, and us, understand if we are the right people to work with. We always like to meet a new client in person, so, following a phone conversation we would invite you into your nearest showroom to talk in more depth over a cup of tea or coffee. You will get to experience our many kitchen, bathroom and interior displays, play with the latest appliance technologies, and discover the wealth of options available to you. Your designer will advise and guide you, offering ideas to enhance your own and enabling you to refine exactly what you want to achieve. The purpose of this meeting is to begin to build rapport, trust and an agreeable brief. The more information about functionality, style, likes and dislikes, and budget your designer can tease from you, the better they will be able to design your new space to your liking.

THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR OUR INITIAL DESIGN WORK, WE BELIEVE IN DEMONSTRATING OUR EXPERTISE A detailed survey of your property will follow, which is a great time to explain to your designer those additional thoughts you have inevitably had since you met. If you are building a new home, accurate architectural drawings will be required. Your designer will get to work, preparing a plan of your new room in readiness for a presentation to you in a few weeks’ time. During the meeting, we will unveil our solution to your brief, providing you with considered reasoning for the layout, product selection and costs. We recognise the design will be very close, but not perfect at this point, and your open and honest feedback will be welcomed to further refine the plans and proposal. With all of your revision recommendations noted, it is now up to you to make a commitment. Before we make as many revisions as necessary or release any drawings we ask that you place a 45% deposit of the initial quote. An agreement that says we are going to carry on working together until we are celebrating with a bottle of champagne.

PLANNING A SUCCESSFUL INSTALLATION The next phase typically takes between 12 and 16 weeks. Your designer completes the revisions, a final quote is provided and everything is signed off. We then place orders, book our fitting teams, and release your plans. You may receive visits from our installation team as they assess the site, checking things such as measurements, access and the need for protective coverings. In advance of any delivery we will explain what is going to happen, request a further 45% of the final quote, and let you know who you should expect to see. When construction begins our installers will do their utmost to keep noise, dust and disruption to a minimum. These things can’t be avoided entirely, but we will do our very best to mitigate any foreseeable challenges with careful planning. Throughout the build phase, we will organise and coordinate all the different trades ensuring timeliness and monitoring progress. Each receives a detailed Mechanical & Electrical guide to ensure they know exactly what is required of them. When the build is complete your installation team will pack away and clean up, carefully removing protective coverings and wiping down surfaces. Returning your home to you in the same way we found it.

ENSURING A SATISFACTORY FINALE We complete quality assurance checks to ensure every detail in the initial design has been created correctly, from plug socket positions and grout lines to furniture finishes and drawer alignments. If anything needs correcting, we will do it. Even if it means coming back multiple times to make sure everything is just right and you are happy. With everyone in agreement that the project is complete, we request the remainder of the final invoice payment and present you with a celebratory gift. In addition, to ensure you have all of the guarantees and instructions in a safe place, we provide you with a comprehensive document folder. It means, in future, when you want to learn about a new cooking function the information is in an easy-to-find place. Our aftercare continues long after you have cooked your first family meal, relaxed in your new luxurious bathroom, or shown-off your new furniture to your friends, we will always be available to help you. You will be first to receive invitations to exclusive client events at our showroom, wine tastings, art shows, professional talks, cooking demonstrations, maybe even sausage making!

AVOIDING UNNECESSARY STRESS, FRUSTRATION AND WORRY
Seeking the guidance of an experienced professional when planning a high-end property renovation is highly recommended, especially when focusing on specific rooms like the kitchen or bathroom. Here are some examples of the pitfalls you should seek to avoid. DESIGN Each space comes with its own set of challenges and a misjudgement or omission could result in a layout that doesn’t work or leads to issues further down the line. For example, do foot flows cross in the kitchen around the working area? Is the water pressure high enough to run the extra-large ceiling showerhead? Can you easily access the hot tap boiler unit for routine servicing? What permissions do I need when renovating my Grade I listed property? A good designer will know that these, and many more, questions need to be answered in order to find the right solution to the brief. A designers ability to collaborate with you is also intrinsic to the success or failure of a design. Can they correctly interpret your ideas, property and lifestyle into a plan that brings happiness, or does their proposal miss the mark? Potentially resulting in further discussions and a loss of your confidence and trust.

BUDGET Accurately quoting for a project is equally important. Failure to account for all of the elements required can lead to unexpected costs at a later date when funds are often associated with alternative priorities. PROJECT MANAGEMENT Not every company excels at project management. The coordination of multiple trades, not necessarily ‘in- house’, must happen in a particular order for a kitchen or bathroom to be efficiently installed. Have one trade arrive out of step with the others and you risk additional costs and delays. INSTALLATION WORKMANSHIP Ultimately, it is an installers skill that defines the fit and finish of the end result. Having a poorly fitted kitchen or bathroom in a high-end property will do nothing for the value of home and your enjoyment of the space. In conclusion, these misgivings will directly influence your enjoyment and satisfaction. Whether it is poor design, mediocre planning, lack of pride in their work or inability to accurately manage costs, it can create an unwanted feeling of resentment and disappointment.
