widespread moral degeneracy ; ergo, a previous Millennium is impossible- (Luke 17:26; Rev. 1:7). 5. There can be no Millennium till a f ter the Man of Sin is destroyed; for “the mystery o f iniquity works” till he is “de veloped out of the midst.” And he is de stroyed at the Second Coming o f our Lord (2 Thess. 2:8-10). . 6 . The teaching of Revelation 14, how ever interpreted, shows there can be no Millennium till Christ returns. 7. Revelation 20:4-6 proves, we think, beyond controversy, that the Millennium is between the first and second resurrec tions, as Jesus'comes to . effect the first resurrection (see 1 Cor. 15:23). F. “I came not to call the righteous, hut sinners” (Mark 2:17). That is, even yet, as surely as when it was first uttered, a startling, solemnizing word. In a general, superficial way, men accept it. All must agree in the more positive aspect of it. He certainly did come to call sinners. It is the negative aspect which startles. He plainly declared that He had no message for the righteous. If any man shall refuse to be reckoned among sinners, then, according to this declaration of the Lord, that man stands outside the circle to which His appeal is made. The context shows the true value o f the saying. The moral teachers were criti cizing Him for consorting with sinners, and in these words He gave His reason for doing so,, and at- the same time made it dear that He had no message for any men who refused to take their place with those very sinners. In such a saying, under such circum stances, there is discoverable a gentle satire, and a great compassion; These self-satisfied men, who will by no means consent to be counted among the sinners, are taken at their own valuation. They are whole, and so have no need of the Physi cian ! They are righteous, and so do not require His call! And yet the deepest note is that of His compassion. He knew their sickness, and so was willing to heal them. He knew they were sinners, and so was calling them also. When we accept the Divine judgment that “there is none righteous,” then we find His call is indeed to us. To resent that finding is to put ourselves outside the number of those to whom the Son of God calls. * ---------------------------- -----—--------------- I READY BIBLE OUTLINES | His Coming Pre-Millennial The salient proofs of Christ coming be fore the Millennium are as follows jr v 1. The parable o f the tares precludes the possibility o f a Millennium before Jesús comes (Matt. 13:30; 25:29-31). 2 . Paul’s prediction o f the moral char acter of the last days prqves the same. The condition “ waxes,:worse and worse” (2 Thess. 2:1-7). 3. Peter’s prediction o f the approaching end of the age shows us exactly the same moral condition, and as widespread (2 Peter 3:1-4). 4. When the Lord comes He describes it “as in the days of Noah and Lot”—
