And if they .have not recreation from healthful sources, they will be very likely to take it from the poisoned fountains of intemperance. Or, if they have pleasures, which, though innocent, are forbidden by the maxims o f public morality, their very pleasures are liable to become poisoned fountainsM-Orville Dewey. . . Hfe; ■ iSt B o o m e r a n g s ! It is said o f Caesar that having pre pared a great feast for his nobles, the day appointed was so foul that he was much displeased, and ordered all who had bows and arrows, to shoot them at their chief god Jupiter. They shot them into the air and they fell back upon their heads and many were sorely wounded. Murmurings against God are just so many arrows shot against God which come back, wounding us badly. A T im e T o B e H o t There are times when a man ought to be hotly indignant with sin. To blandly look on when the church is being defiled, and the name o f Christ is being dragged in the mire of popular ridicule, is to show one’s self unworthy of the holy name he bears. There is a time “to cry out and spare not.” Complacency in the midst of the taunting riot o f sin defiling the temple o f the Highest, can only be interpreted as indifference, or sympathy or cowardice; it may be all three. h i m fist L in e s t o L e a r n “ I cannot do great things for Him Who did so much for me, But I should like to show my love,
