The UK tness market continues to demonstrate strong momentum, with all core KPIs reaching new highs. Total membership now exceeds 12 million, while overall market value has passed £7bn, underlining both the scale and resilience of the sector. Penetration has risen from 16.6% to 17.6%, a full percentage point increase, marking a signicant expansion in participation and reinforcing the continued shift of gym usage further into the mainstream. Growth has been driven by continued expansion

in the private sector, alongside steady recovery in public provision. Importantly, this is not simply a post-pandemic rebound: the market has now moved beyond previous peaks, establishing a new baseline for participation. For operators, this signals a larger and more engaged customer base, but also a more competitive and performance-driven landscape, with growth increasingly driven by utilisation and value rather than expansion alone.
