Ways to Connect, Support and Give

Pastor’s Note It’s Thanksgiving time. We are in the month of November and all I can say is, what a mighty God we serve. You should be excited that God has brought you through 10 months of 2022 and has been gracious to you and your family by providing not simply what you want, but also what you need. Take every day and thank God for what He has done for you. Since it’s called Thanksgiving , let’s try to put it t ogether. Thanks meaning being grateful, appreciative and thoughtful. Giving meaning to support, entrust and sacrifice. Thanks-giving now takes on NEW meaning for each and every one of us. To be grateful and appreciative for the sacrifices, support and blessings that have been given (entrusted to us). As we embark and travel into the month of November. Let us always be grateful for the blessings that God has given to every one of us. Sometimes it does not seem like enough, but in the end, it’s just enough for us to know, that things could be so much worse. Don’t take for granted how gracious God has been to you! And constantly remind yourself that every day, is a day of Thanksgiving. Thank God for the little things, as well as the large. Remember, being grateful has nothing to do with the gift, but has everything to do with the receiver of the gift. Be thankful, be grateful, be appreciative and always give God thanks!
With Deepest Thanks for Each and Every One of You,
Robert Jackson, III, D.Min
Senior Pastor

NOVEMBER WORSHIP INFORMATION THE OPENING HYMN “LEAD ME GUIDE ME”
1 I am weak, and I need Thy strength and power To help me over my weakest hour; Let me through the darkness Thy face to see, Lead me, O Lord, lead me. Refrain: Lead me, guide me along the way; For if You lead me, I cannot stray; Lord, let me walk each day with Thee. Lead me, O Lord, lead me. 2 Help me tread in the paths of righteousness; Be my aid when Satan and sin oppress. I am putting all my trust in Thee, Lead me, O Lord, lead me. [Refrain] 3 I am lost, if you take your hand from me; I am blind, without Thy Light to see; Lord, just always let me Thy servant be, Lead me, O Lord, lead me. [Refrain ] THE CALL TO WORSHIP Leader: I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord, our feet shall stand within Thy gates, O Jerusalem. People: For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
6
Leader: Because of the house of the Lord, our God, I will seek Thy good. People: Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. Leader: Blessed are they that dwell in Thy house, Lord, I have loved Thy habitation, the place where Thy honor dwelleth. People: For the Lord is in His Holy Temple, let all the earth keep silence before Him. Leader: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer. All: O sing unto the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all the earth sing praises.
THE PRELUDE TO THE DECALOGUE “From All That Dwells”
“From all that dwell below the skies, Let thy Creator’s praise arise;Let thy Redeemer’s name be sung, Through every land by every tongue.” THE DECALOGUE (An Affirmation of God’s Law) Leader: Let us express our commitment to keep God’s law. People: God of our salvation, only you are God. We will make no idols. We will not invoke with malice your name, O God. We will remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy. We will honor our father and mother. We will not commit murder. We will not
7
commit adultery. We will not steal. We will not bear false witness. We will not covet anything that belongs to our neighbor. Leader: Jesus said: “You shall love the Lord your God will all your heart, and will all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.” People: Jesus also challenged us to live justly with a second commandment which is like the first: We shall love thy neighbor as ourselves! On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets. (The Anvil, 2018) THE GLORIA PATRI Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, Is now and ever shall be, World without end. Amen. Amen. THE THEME, MISSION AND VISION (What We Believe) St. Paul is a church developing disciples through faith to serve the kingdom of God! Our Vision at Saint Paul is to change the world, one person at a time. We are committed to actively fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ through and for every generation. Our mission is to serve all people in an environment of excellence, evangelize the unbeliever and strengthen the believer through integrity. AMEN THE GENERAL CONFESSION Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Maker of all things, Judge of all men, we acknowledge and bewail our manifold sins and wickedness which we from time to time most grievously have
8
committed by thought, word and deed against Your divine Majesty, provoking most justly Your wrath and indignation against us. We do earnestly repent and are heartily sorry for these our misdoings; the remembrance of them is grievous unto us. Have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us, most merciful Father for Your Son our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake; forgive us all that is past, and grant that we may ever hereafter serve and please You in newness of life, to the honor and glory of Your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. THE APOSTLE’S CREED I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only son our Lord who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead; and buried. The third day he arose from the dead' he ascended into heaven and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Church Universal, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.
