LEADERSHIP MATTERS A LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
T he last month of the year is shaping up to be an exciting time for The Chamber. Our 102nd Annual Excellence in Business Awards is scheduled to be held on December 2, 2021, at the Rogue Valley Country Club from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For over a century, The Chamber and our community leaders have recognized the talents and achievements of outstanding local companies and individuals. These are people and businesses who embody community spirit and partnership. It is our pleasure to honor them, and we hope you will join us. We will comply with the local health department and CDC guidance to ensure the health and safety of our members, staff, and community. Additionally, our first in-person Chamber Forum will be held on Monday, December 13th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Forum will be a panel discussion featuring nonprofits that have impacted the community. The panel questions will focus on the theme of “Rogue Valley Resiliency”. Visit our website to purchase your Forum tickets. As you may know, infrastructure has been an important topic on the federal, state, and local levels. A new $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill was recently signed and will deliver $550 billion of new federal investments in America’s infrastructure. This will include everything from bridges and roads to the nation’s broadband, water, and energy systems. Experts say the money is needed to ensure safe travel, and efficient transport of goods and produce across the country. The impacts of the bill will also trickle down to Oregon and Jackson County, with more than $50 million slated to help Southern Oregon. You can read more about it in this edition of the Business Review. Everyone at The Chamber is looking forward to ending the year with in-person gatherings. While we have enjoyed our online meetings and forums, we are glad to see each of you in person again. It will be a positive way to end the year and start 2022.
