HARD & SOFT

T E X T STEWART KELLER CELEBRATING DICHOTOMY A s the co-creative director of powerhouse brands Monse and Oscar de la Renta, Laura Kim is an important voice in today’s design industry. That is why she was an exciting partner to collaborate on Kohler’s recent “Design Changes Everything” campaign. Its imagery features Kim wearing a bespoke dress she designed, which was inspired by the sleek silhouette of Kohler’s Veil Smart Toilet in Honed Black. Kim’s original dress debuted during Monse’s Fall/Winter 2025 runway show at New York Fashion Week. The garment combines the graceful movement of flowing black chiffon with more rigid leather straps and a buckle detail—creating a juxtaposition of softness and structure that mirrors the sculptural curves and textual depth of the Veil Smart Toilet. The campaign invites viewers to consider the power of design to transform—to redefine everyday experiences and to bring beauty to unexpected places. “Uncover uncommon beauty in every curve, in every detail,” says Kim in one of the campaign’s commercial spots—as the dress billows gently beside the Veil. “Each moment holds more if you dare to chase it.” “Design Changes Everything” celebrates Kohler’s legacy of in- novation and Kim’s refined creations.
